• Lack of Proper Nutrition
Your immune system requires nutrients for it to function in the correct way. When you eat unhealthy food such as junk food, polyunsaturated fats, and too much sugar you will end up suppressing your immune system. These foods usually inhibit phagocytosis. Phagocytosis is the name given to the process by which your white blood cells work to destroy pathogens.
• Certain Drugs
Some of the drugs that your doctor prescribes you to may be working against your immune system. These may be crippling your immune system without you knowing. For example, research has shown that people who take antibiotics have reduced levels of their cytokines. Cytokines are hormones which usually act as messengers in your immune system.
Also, the majority of medications will contain some toxins which will reduce the functioning of the good bacteria found in your gut. These bacteria are especially very useful in keeping your body immune.
Drinking alcohol is fun. But, if you don’t keep your drinking in check, you will compromise your immune system. Having excess alcohol in your body will reduce the number of white blood cells present. When your body has a reduced number of white blood cells, it becomes more vulnerable to diseases.

• Fatigue – Although there are a number of reasons as to why you might be fatigued, waking up every morning tired is a huge indicator that your immune system is compromised.
• Frequent infections – When your immune system is not functioning as it should, your body can’t fight off bacteria and viruses. You will, therefore, find yourself picking up infections such urinary and respiratory infections every now and then.
• Your injuries take a long time to heal – When your immune system is down, bacteria will find it very easy to invade and infect your skin. This makes it harder for any injuries to heal.
• Allergies – If you find that you are more allergic than you would consider as being normal, this is a huge indicator that your immune system is not functioning the way it should and it needs boosting.
• Digestive problems – Pathogens will find it easy to invade your digestive system when your body defense mechanism is down. This will lead to a lot of digestive problems.
